V8 Predicts

Pre-event commitment

A pre-event commitment is a record created before an event that fixes what was predicted, so it cannot be changed once the result is known.

In plain English

Committing in advance without revealing everything is the mechanism that makes a track record trustworthy. The commitment binds the claim; publication timing controls how much is visible while the bet still has value.

Example

A record showing that a prediction existed at a stated time, with its details confirmable afterwards.

Why it matters

It closes the gap between claiming a good record and being able to demonstrate one.
