Unit size
Unit size is the fraction of a bankroll risked on one standard bet.
In plain English
It converts a staking plan into a number. Smaller units survive longer losing runs at the cost of slower growth, and the right choice depends on tolerance for drawdown rather than on any single bet.
Example
A one percent unit on a 5,000 bankroll is 50 per standard bet.
Why it matters
Unit size determines whether a normal losing stretch is uncomfortable or terminal.
